Executive Summary
Supply chain management involves the planning,implementation and control of the flow and storage ofgoods, services and information from origin to the point ofconsumption in order to meet customers’ requirements. It isa key part of all businesses. Just think of the newspaper youpicked up from your doorstep this morning. From the rawmaterials, e.g. ink and newsprint, to articles from reportersand advertisers, to the editing and printing process, thendelivery to customers, getting the paper to your door is acomplicated and coordinated process. With China expectedto become a huge manufacturing base for the world,logistics is an already large industry set to expand.
