3）二战期间：创举（OR；Logistics）
（2）发展：
Logistics Engineering、 Logistics Management、Logistics of Distribution、Business Logistics
50-70年代：P.D.，与销售有关
定义：包括原材料的流通、产品分配、运输、购买与库存控制、储存、用户服务等业务活动。
1986年：美国物流管理协会改名：N.C.P.D.M——C.L.M
美国物流管理协会对物流的定义：物流是为满足消费者需要，在使原材料、半成品、成品和相关信息在原产地和消费地之间实现高效且经济的运输和储存过程中必须从事的计划、实施和控制等全部活动。
